## About
For thirty one years, Katy and her husband, Bill have called Wolfeboro home. Here they raised four daughters while running a small family farm. As a military wife, she weathered three deployments and knows the sacrifice of military families. She homeschooled her daughters but stayed connected to the community through the local schools, where her girls played sports and served as team captains.

For years, Peternel volunteered as a sports coach, 4H leader, and homeschool organizer. When her daughters grew up, she decided to give back to the local community. Running for State Representative seemed like a big leap, but she won the trust of Wolfeboro and Tuftonboro voters four years ago.

Now seeking re-election, Peternel has become an active leader in state government, with assignments as Assistant Majority Whip, Advisor to the Speaker, and Vice-Chair of Education Policy and Administration. She loves that New Hampshire has the most accessible and transparent state government in the country. Peternel's goal is to protect what makes this the freest state and preserve the New Hampshire Advantage for another two years.

## Key Issues
- **Taxes and the Economy**: Katy Peternel will vote against any state income or sales tax to preserve New Hampshire's competitive advantage that attracts businesses and families from high-tax states like Massachusetts and Vermont. She will work to reduce the statewide property tax burden by opposing unfunded state mandates that force local communities to raise property taxes to cover costs imposed by Concord. Peternel will support legislation that streamlines regulations on small businesses and eliminates unnecessary licensing requirements that prevent New Hampshire entrepreneurs from creating jobs and growing our economy.
- **Education**: Katy Peternel will fight to reduce the property tax burden on  families by pushing for more efficient school spending. She has sponsored legislation that will expand transparency and accountability at the local level. She will work to expand school choice options for New Hampshire parents, including support for Education Freedom Accounts that let families choose the best educational path for their children without raising taxes. Peternel will advocate for local control of curriculum decisions, ensuring school boards and parents maintain authority over what their children learn rather than having mandates imposed by Concord bureaucrats.
